First up today is Yukon Brewing’s Yukon Red Amber Ale. I bought a Yukon Brewing Thirst Aid Pack Sampler which included Yukon Red as well as Discovery – Honey E.S.B. , Ice Fog – IPA, and Yukon Gold – English Pale Ale.
The Yukon Red Amber Ale pours a beautiful, dark reddish-brown color. The head was thin and dissipated quickly. On the nose it was a little bready, floral/hoppy and a touch of malty goodness.
This ale tasted great. A very nice balance of malt and hops with the hops over-powering the malts just slightly. The taste lingers a little and this is rather pleasant; Not very often do I ever find an aftertaste being pleasant. There is a slight dryness to the taste but nothing that is off-putting.
Overall, I found this to be a very drinkable beer and I am looking forward to having a few more at some point in the not so distant future.
Have you tried this Yukon Red Amber Ale? If you have, let us know what you think, we would love to hear from you.
