The atmosphere is very warm and inviting and the beer is top notch. Leaving Hammerheart I felt like I could go pillage a village. If your travels bring you near the twin cities I suggest you make the pilgrimage up to Lino Lakes to visit Hammerheart Brewing Company’s Tap Room.
This informal social gathering with YYCBeers, Tool Shed Brewing Company and Last Best Brewing & Distilling will take place on Wednesday December 17th. Pig & Duke owner Stephen Lowden will be hosting the event along with his bar manager Ryan Matheson. Brewery reps will also be on hand to talk about their beer and to answer any questions you have as well. You can look forward to three beers from each brewery to pair up with some of Chef Evan Robertson’s delicious food.
The AGLC just informed them that their brewery and all Class E breweries in the province can now serve up full pints at their soon to be taproom and they will not be required to have a kitchen whatsoever. This is huge news and other start-ups in the province will no doubt be just as thrilled with this news. In a memo to Class E licensees (manufacturers) the AGLC announces that they may now obtain a Class B (Tourist Facility) Licence allowing them to serve their own products in the brewery.

Betting on Craft Beer is easy money in Las Vegas if you ask me. On a recent trip to Las Vegas it was nice to see some positive changes in the craft beer scene since our last visit about a year and a half earlier. There are a some breweries in Las Vegas and it isn’t as easy to be profitable as you might think. The fact is that there are millions upon millions of visitors to this city each year and they all bring cash that they know they probably won’t leave with. Many of these visitors will end up drinking macro brewed beer, for some way too much. So why aren’t they drinking craft beer?
